Company: Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

Location:
Bala-Cynwyd, PA 19004

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Internship

Job Summary: Are you looking to join the fight against childhood cancer while honing your professional skills? If so, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) just might be the place for you!

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $150 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 800 pediatric cancer research projects throughout North America. For more information about ALSF visit www.alexslemonade.org.

Throughout the year, social media plays an integral role in engaging with our supporters, raising awareness about ALSF and helping to raise money for critical childhood cancer research. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for assisting our Social Media Specialist in content creation, social media account monitoring and live event coverage, as well as special projects. This is an ideal position for an outgoing individual interested in pursuing a career in communications and looking for quality experience working with large social media accounts and marketing campaigns while making a difference in the lives of children and their families who are affected by cancer. In this position, you will work closely with our Social Media Specialist to assist in growth and engagement on a variety of platforms.

All employees of the Foundation undertake other duties as needed and special projects as assigned. All positions at ALSF require occasional non-traditional work hours including evenings and weekends.

Required Competencies and Skills:
  • Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in related field; candidate entering junior or senior year preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytical skills and manage detailed tasks
  • Experience with social media business accounts a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Passionate about the mission of the Foundation
  • Ability to be flexible and positive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player, self-motivator, quick learner and problem solver
  • Strong work ethic with willingness to go above and beyond to reach goals

The successful candidate for this paid internship opportunity will thrive in ALSF’s fast-paced, unique environment, will have the opportunity to make important contributions to our continued growth and most importantly, will be helping to save the lives of sick children. If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your resume and cover letter describing your interest and why you are the right fit for this position. In *the interest of expediting our process, only candidates who submit cover letters with resumes will be considered.*
