Degree in 3

A new program offered to students who entered Rowan before the Fall of 2015. This program enables participants to graduate in 3 years with a bachelor's degree as opposed to 4. The program is compatible with several majors, including Writing Arts.

How it works

Students enter the Degree in 3 Program either as freshmen who will have competed 40 credits by the end of the first summer session, or as transfer students who have already completed between 40 and 50 credits.
Students in the program must be a campus resident for all 3 years of participation, including summers. For summer sessions, the program covers the cost of tuition, fees, and housing for the student. Each participant must also complete a minimum of 200 hours of leadership experience and 2 semesters of interning before gradating.
Each student has a specific advisor to help guide them through the requirements of the program in addition to the advisor they meet with to discuss their major's requirements.

Advantages of degree in 3

  • Students save approximately 25% of the cost of a bachelor's degree ($22,000) earned over a 4 year period.
  • Early graduation provides the student with more time to work or continue their education through graduate school.
  • Students receive free tuition, housing, and fees during summer sessions.

For more information

Upon acceptance into the Writing Arts program, students can email degreein3.rowan.edu to determine their eligibility for the program and for further information about how to apply. To view other majors compatible with this program please refer to the Rowan website's Degree in 3 page.
