Writing Arts Internship Opportunities
WA 01320 | Prerequisites: Instructor Approval | 3 credit hours
Under professional supervision in the field, students practice theories and skills learned in the classroom. Students keep a detailed log of working hours, prepare an extensive portfolio, write an analytical critique of the practicum, and are evaluated by their faculty supervisor.
WA Dept. Internal Internship
Available for all students The Writing Arts department's internal interns manage the web presence of our department. Interns work on social media, create and edit videos and podcasts, interview faculty and students, write weekly blog posts, and plan and host in-person and virtual events.

Glassworks Internship
Available for grad students or seniors with a 3.0 GPA Glassworks is our graduate level literary magazine. Interns for Glassworks will read submissions in all genres and help select what gets published in Glassworks, promote content on social media, proofread issues, assist with the order and layout of the magazine, plan and host on-campus readings, attend the annual AWP conference, and other small tasks to help keep the magazine running.

Singularity Press Internship
Available for juniors, seniors, and grad students Singularity Press is a student-created, student-run publishing service for speculative fiction startup that will give students experience in the world of publishing. The press will provide manuscript editing and book design services for those who wish to self-publish their work.

Halftone Internship
Available for undergrads who have successfully completed Writing About Pop Culture (WA 01375) Halftone is a student-run online publication that produces thought-provoking content about popular culture. Interns may serve as editors or designers who support Halftone in its mission to advance public discourse and inspire new conversations centered on film, television shows, music, live events, books, and other media.
