The Publishing and Writing for the Public concentration emphasizes the importance of understanding how emerging technologies challenge traditional notions of what it means to write and to be a writer. Students in this concentration will work in and with the affordances and limits of various technologies, including social medias, visual composing tools, electronic writing spaces, and web sites. Students concentrating in Publishing and Writing for the Public will understand the implications of technology on writing as well as the ways that technology further nuances their relationship with an audience.
Note: You must choose at least 6 credits from any of the courses listed below. If you choose all of the 12 credits from one of the three concentrations, that concentration will appear on your transcript. If you complete more than one concentration, you must take 9 separate credits in each concentration.
