Non-Rowan options:

Counseling Services at Rowan
- Therapy/Counseling: Here is the Wellness Center's page, where you can find student services from the options on the left: https://sites.rowan.edu/wellness/counseling/index.html. They offer both individual and group therapy. If you do NOT want to use your family’s insurance plan for this, tell them that, and they will offer alternatives.
- Let’s Talk program: If you aren’t sure if counseling is right for you, you can make an appointment for an informal consultation through the Let's Talk program. Basically, that program lets you meet with a professional at the Wellness Center so that they can help you determine what kind of counseling or other resource would be best for your situation. This page explains the program and has links to make an appointment: https://sites.rowan.edu/wellness/counseling/services/lets-talk.html. You can also call the main number and ask to make a Let's Talk appointment; that number is 856-256-4333.
- U Good F.A.M.?: Network for fostering the mental health and well-being of students of color. They hold monthly dialogues for students and provide contacts for students looking for guidance and advice. See their flyer here.
Other Rowan Resources
- Accommodations for Mental Health: You can get accommodations through Disability Services for mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety. Accommodations can include consideration for absences or extended deadlines for assignments; an accommodation letter encourages faculty to meet your needs. To apply, contact Disability Resources; instructions are on their web site.
- Success Coaching: If you are feeling overwhelmed by juggling academics and your life, this could be a great option. A coach can help you develop strategies and a plan for getting work done while meeting your own personal goals and broader well-being needs. Check out the Success Coaching web site to learn more and make an appointment.
- Stress & Anxiety Student Support Group: This group meets Mondays at 2pm in Room 11 Wellness Center, and you can find events by logging into ProfLink and then search “Stress & Anxiety.” The purpose is to chat with Healthy Campus Initiatives student interns, let off steam, and learn some strategies, BUT this group is not therapy--just a place to talk with other students.
- Active Minds: Student organization that promotes mental health awareness and organizes events. Info is on ProfLink.
- Chill & Chat: Rowan Healthy Campus Initiatives offers this opportunity every Friday from 11:00-noon to just hang out, chat, and play games with student interns. You can find events by logging into ProfLink and then searching Chill and Chat.
